Frequently asked questions

  • What is Tallow?
Tallow is a nutrient-rich, rendered fat typically from grass-fed cows, known for its moisturizing and skin-nourishing properties. It’s a traditional ingredient in natural skincare and soap-making.
  • Where Do You Source Your Tallow From?
We source our suet locally from MA and RI cattle farms and render it at our farm here in Bristol, RI.
  • Is Tallow Good for Acne?
Yes, tallow can be beneficial for acne-prone skin. Its composition is similar to your skin's natural oils, helping to balance sebum production and provide nourishment without clogging pores.
  • Will Your Products Help With Eczema?
Many customers have experienced relief using our Whipped Tallow butter. Made with simple, natural ingredients, this butter deeply nourishes and moisturizes without causing irritation. Tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K and closely resembles our skin's natural oils, helping to support the skin barrier and promote healing. That said, eczema can have many triggers, so while we’re confident in our products, we can’t make specific guarantees about how they’ll work for everyone.
  • Is There Lye In Our Soap?
No. Our soap is made using lye as part of the soap-making process. However, after saponification (the chemical reaction that turns oils and lye into soap), no lye remains in the finished product. The result is a gentle, natural soap that’s safe and nourishing for your skin.
  • Are Your Essential Oils Therapeutic Grade?
Yes, we use only high-quality, therapeutic-grade essential oils in our products. They are pure, natural, and free from fillers or synthetic additives, ensuring the best benefits for your skin.
  • How Fast Is Shipping?
We typically process and ship orders within 1-3 business days. Shipping times may vary depending on your location, but most packages arrive within 3-5 business days after your order has been shipped.
  • Do You Ship Internationally?
Unfortunately not at this moment, but we hope to in the near future. Stay Tuned
